EXPERIMENT

What means to create for me? What would I like to express by my work? Is the presence of a "message" necessary at all? What about technique and style? Is it possible to seek an inspiration whithin me without external motives? A private journey in search of answers to these and other questions. A series of 15 works that emerged as an exclusive dialogue between the artist and the canvas, with environment free of influence, expectations, the attempt to create an aesthetically pleasing work. Some answers emerged, other questions generated new ones. Just as in life one is never done with finding oneself (and if one is, it's rather to one's chagrin), the same applies to painting. At least to me. The constant change, the fluidity, the discovery of the new and the return to the old (trams), more question marks instead of satisfying dots (single ones, not the three). And three answers defining my work. Joy. Curiosity. Beauty. The joy of life translating into color and form, the joy of the process itself. Curiosity what would bring subconscious mind and the next brushstroke and where it will take me. Beauty. The beauty of everyday little things, places and emotions. The beauty in rediscovering the familiar.
